Do you want to become a better leader? Or are you just curious to learn how leadership affects us all? Then you should mark the date in your diary when Aarhus University holds its MatchPoints Seminar on Leadership and Performance in the 21st Century on 23-25 May 2019.
Meet HRH Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark, European Commissioner Margrethe Vestager, director Morten Albæk, Professor Arnold Bakker, Professor Lotte Bøgh Andersen and a number of other researchers, managers, politicians and opinion-formers who will speak about good leadership in the public and private sectors and voluntary organisations.
The conference is aimed at managers and others who are involved in leadership tasks or have a general interest in leadership but have no formal management qualifications. They may be in voluntary organisations or private or public sector employees.
A conference based on practical experience
This year’s MatchPoints Seminar puts dialogue with practitioners first, and the conference will combine insights from the latest research on leadership with experience from real-life leaders. The keynote speakers and participants in the panel discussions will be researchers, managers, politicians and opinion-formers. There will also be a number of different presentations, debates and workshops running in parallel, which means that participants will be able to select the specific parts of the programme they find most interesting.

“.... setting a course and producing results with and through others. But in order to produce results through others, you need to be seen as an active leader. Research shows that after just one year without any leadership development, employees perceive their manager as less active. That is why it is important for managers to constantly work on their own leadership,” says Professor Lotte Bøgh Andersen, director of the Crown Prince Frederik Center for Public Leadership, which is hosting the conference.
